Poverty

The women are the pillars of the family. They work in the fields, sell their produce at the market. Or they earn the important contribution to their livelihood with sewing and similar activities. With a micro-credit as start-up capital, they have the opportunity to expand their small farm and buy a sewing machine.

Our projects

The projects of Kekeli Togo e.V. cover the topics of poverty, health and hygiene, education and empowerment of girls and contribute to the gradual achievement of UN SDGs 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Together with our partner in Klologo, we still have a lot of work to do, flexibly adapting to local conditions and needs in order to achieve demonstrable, measurable impacts, including behavioural changes, and thus advance development in line with the UN SDGs. We will continue to do our utmost to raise funds through donations from our own ranks as well as through applications to foundations and other organisations.

Hygiene and health

Hygiene and health: We built two deep wells with nine water outlets. We set up hand-washing stations at the schools (including hygiene training). We built a latrine in the Gatihomé district.

Training as an

opportunity

Training young people, giving them a perspective - that is Kekeli Togo's new project. In this way, we help to reduce poverty by giving young, motivated people the realistic opportunity to earn a living and thus also contribute to the regional economy.

Education

During our visit to Klologo in January 2020, we discovered the poor condition of the kindergarten there. With the help of a generous donation, we were able to renovate the kindergarten and build a covered playground (protection from the sun!). Purchase playground equipment.

Equality

Our "Girls Project", a project for the protection and promotion of girls in Klologo, aims to create an environment where adolescent girls in the village are protected from early pregnancy and early marriage, where their rights are respected and their full development is ensured.
